Each pair begins with a material that already carries a story. Sometimes it is an old garment, a family textile, or a piece of discarded furniture. Sometimes it is a personal object brought to the studio for a commission.

The original object is taken apart, studied, and cut according to what the material allows. Handles, pockets, zippers, embroidery, and signs of wear are kept and repositioned. The result is a pair of boxing gloves that still carries the character and history of what it once was.
